Winners Announced!
The judges have weighed in, and we're excited to share the news! Go to the Steel City Hacks: Winter Hack gallery to congratulate the winners and check out all of your awesome submissions. Winners should have received an extra email from Devpost with instructions on how to get started with prize redemption logistics. Contact us ASAP if you haven't received this email (but be sure to check your spam)!
Finally, we wanted to thank everyone involved with this event one last time before we head out. Thank you to our incredible panel of professional judges, who loved looking through our submissions and seeing what the younger side of the computer science community has been up to! Thank you to our sponsors, who make these events possible and give you guys goodies and prizes to go home with. Most of all, thank you to you, the coders, for your passion and creativity! We hope that this event has inspired you to continue dreaming about the ways computer science can be used for good.
P.S.
Just a reminder, this hackathon was held as a part of Steel City Codes, a computer science teaching organization on a mission to increase inclusivity in STEM. At Steel City Codes, high schooler volunteer teachers teach elementary and middle school students how to become proficient programmers through online or in-person classes at local community centers/schools, and we'd love to have any of you volunteer to be a teacher and spread computer science education. If you're interested in starting a chapter or volunteering at a local one, email contact@steelcitycodes.org to get started.
For those of you hungry for more coding opportunities, we'll be hosting another Steel City Hacks event in the spring! Look forward to an announcement in the coming months for more info on that.
Happy hacking,
Your Steel City Hacks organizers
